Day 2: Shape 1 – The Trapezoid
Build Your Throwing Foundation with Shape 1
(Read below after you watch the video!)
Unlock energy transfer and eliminate premature rotation.
Welcome back to Day 2!
Shape 1: The Trapezoid is the starting point for every great throw. It ensures your lower body is engaged and storing energy, ready to transfer it seamlessly through your throw.
The Problem:
Without the trapezoid shape, many players experience:
- Premature Pelvic Rotation: Rotating too early prevents energy from being stored in the back leg.
- Parallelogram Shape: Collapsed knees and improper posture lead to wasted energy and inefficiency.
The Solution:
Focus on creating the trapezoid shape by moving your body forward into alignment:
- Activate the back part of your leg to store energy.
- Ensure your knees stay stable and don’t collapse inward.
Why It Works:
-
This shape sets up your lower body as the foundation of your throw, just like the handle of a whip driving its power.
Your Task Today:
- Watch the Shape 1 Video
- Practice the Trapezoid Activation Drill to master this movement.
Tomorrow, we’ll focus on Shape 2: The Nike Swoosh and how it creates arm whip for effortless power.
